SR652 Window and Door Frames Caulk

SR652 Window and Door Frames Caulk is a one component, non-slumping, neutral cure, architectural grade silicone sealant. It has good adhesion to glass, PVC-U, aluminum profiles, concrete, masonry and other building materials, and is specially designed for glass assembly of and perimeter sealing applications of windows and doors.

PACKAGING INFORMATION:
• SR652 Window and Door Frames Caulk is supplied in 300 ml disposable plastic cartridges, 600 ml foil sausages and 200L drum bulk packaging.

USABLE LIFE AND STORAGE:
• When stored at or below 27°C in the original unopened containers, it has a usable life of 12 months from the date of production.

LIMITATIONS:
• Do not use for structural glazing.
• Do not use in the manufacture of insulated glass (IG) units.
• Do not use for curtain wall glazing.
• Not recommended for expansion joints where high movement is expected.
• When bonding cement and concrete substrates, the substrate must be completely dried and cured for 7 days before construction, otherwise it will affect the bonding performance.
• Not recommended for use in closed or confined areas where sealant cure may be inhibited by lack of air. Because sealant cures by contact with moisture vapor in the air.
• Do not apply sealant at temperatures below 4°C or when substrate surface temperatures exceed 40°C.
• Do not apply sealant on frost-laden or wet surfaces.
• Do not apply in below-grade applications or on surfaces that are continuously immersed in water.
• Not recommended for use with marble, granite and similar highly porous stone finishes where sealant may affect their appearance.
• Do not use SR652 Window and Door Frames Caulk on bituminous substrates, substrates based on natural rubber, choloroprene or EPDM or on building materials which might bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents.
• Should not be used If the sealant is intended to be painted, paints do not typically adhere to most silicone sealants

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT TECHNOLOGY SERVICES:
• Adhesion test
Due to the emergence of new building materials and the application of new surface treatment technologies, we cannot guarantee that the sealant will be suitable for all materials, and in some cases the sealant and the materials used in the project will be tested for adhesion. Our laboratory can provide customers with adhesion test, evaluate the bonding performance of our sealant products and materials selected by customers, and test the results, product recommendations, surface cleaning methods and whether to use primers. Submitted to the customer in writing.

• Compatibility test
If the auxiliary materials for assembly such as foam strips and double-sided tape are incompatible with silicone sealant, the silicone sealant may be discolored or even lose its cohesiveness. In order to avoid such problems, our laboratory provides customers with compatibility testing services. Customers can express or through other means to send the auxiliary materials for the project to us. Our company's laboratories will conduct compatibility tests and give written test reports.

• Pollution test
If the sealant contaminates the porous material, it will be irreparable. Due to the variety of porous materials used in engineering, we can provide customers with the engineering porous materials and our products for pollution testing, and give written test reports.

JOINT DESIGN:
The sealant joint width should be designed to accommodate the movement capability of the
sealant. When designing joints using SR651 Window and Door Frames Caulk, the minimum width should be 6 mm. For joints between 6 and 12 mm wide, a seal depth of 6 mm is required. For joints above 12 mm wide, a width to depth ratio of 2:1 should be used. The maximum size of the joint width should be less than 25 mm. In situations where fillet joints are needed, a minimum of 6 mm sealant bite to each substrate is recommended.

HOW TO USE:
• Surface Preparation
Ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry, sound and free from frost. Clean all joints
of release agents, water repellents, laitance, dust, dirt, old sealants and other contaminants
which could impair adhesion. Non-porous surfaces should be wiped and degreased with a clean oil-free and lint-free cloth dipped in an appropriate solvent prior to application of sealant. Porous substrates should be mechanically cleaned using a steel brush, sanding disc or any similar means.

• Back-up materials
Closed cell polyethylene backer rod is recommended as back-up material and to prevent three-sided bonding. For Joints that are too shallow to use backer rod, low tack polyethylene tape should be used as the back-up material.

• Masking Tape
The area near the joint needs to be covered. By using masking tape, the working line of the seal can be perfectly neat, and the appearance of the periphery of the joint is clean and the surrounding sealant can be prevented from contaminating the surface of the substrate. Never use tape onto the surface where the sealant will be applied.

• Priming
For common building materials, usually does not require the use of a primer solution. However, a test placement prior to general use is always recommended.. After testing, if you need primer, we can provide it.

• Applying sealant
Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle according to the desired shape and size. Install the tip and place the plastic cartridge or soft sausage into the caulking gun which can use a pneumatic sealant gun or a manual caulking gun. Apply sealant, continuously squeeze in and fill the joint, do not simply place the sealant on the surface, because the sealant will not fill the joint under its own weight.

• Tooling
Tool the surface of the joint immediately after sealant application to provide a smooth even finish and to ensure the sealant is fully contact with the sides and bottom of the joint. Tooling should be completed in one continuous stroke before the sealant forms a skin. Remove masking tape immediately after tooling and before the sealant skins. Do not touch the surface of the sealant within 48 hours.
