Product Description

SR966 Silicone Sealant for Prefabricated Building

SR966 Silicone Sealant is a one component, low modulus, high elasticity, room temperature curing silicone sealant which is specially designed for joint sealing of fabricated concrete buildings. Excellent weather resistance and waterproof performance. Good unprimed adhesion to most building materials such as concrete, cement, glass, aluminum, masonry, etc. Excellent flexibility recovery characteristics, can be well adapted to concrete joint movement.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:
• Excellent adhesion to cement, concrete, glass, aluminum, stone and other building materials
• One component, Ready to use
• Neutral curing, non-corrosive
• Low modulus, Low internal stress during deformation, no damage to concrete substrate
• Movement capacity ±50%, Good adapt to expansion and shear deformation of concrete joints
• Excellent weatherability, virtually unaffected by sunlight, rain, snow, ozone, water and extreme weather
• Reliable durability, the cured sealant remains elastic at -40°C to 150°C without hardening, cracking and chipping

APPLICATIONS:
SR966 Silicone Sealant is specially designed for the joint seals of exterior walls, balconies and interior of prefabricated concrete buildings. It is also suitable for the perimeter sealing of doors and windows, and other concrete joint seals where weather resistance and waterproof are required.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS:
This sealant meets or exceeds the requirements of:
• JC/T 881-I-N-50LM
• GB/T 22083-F-50LM

QUALITY ASSURANCE:
This product has passed ISO9001/ISO14001 management system certification, and strictly in accordance with ISO9001 quality system requirements for production and control of product quality.

COLOUR:
• Black, grey, white or other colors required by the user

PACKAGING INFORMATION:
SR966 Silicone Sealant is supplied in 200L drum bulk packaging.

USABLE LIFE AND STORAGE:
When stored at or below 27°C in the original unopened containers, it has a usable life of 9 months from the date of production.

LIMITATIONS:
When bonding cement and concrete substrates, the substrate must be completely dried and cured for 7 days before construction, otherwise it will affect the bonding performance
• Do not use in a totally confined space, because sealant requires atmospheric moisture to cure
Bleeding can occur on porous substrates such as marble, granite or other natural stones. On sensitive substrates, specific testing should be carried out.
Do not use for structural glazing, insulated glass glazing
Not suitable for assembly of glass
• Do not apply at temperatures below 4°C or when substrate surface temperatures exceed 50°C
• Not suitable for frosted or wet surfaces
• Not recommended for continuous water immersion applications.
• Not suitable for all materials that bleed grease, plasticizers or solvents
• Should not be used If the sealant is intended to be painted

JOINT DESIGN:
The sealant joint width should be designed to accommodate the movement capability of the sealant. When designing the joints using SR966 Silicone Sealant , the minimum width should be 6 mm. For a 6~12 mm wide joint, a sealing depth of 6 mm is required. For joints with a width of more than 12 mm, width to depth ratio of 2:1 should be used. In situations where a fillet joint is required, a minimum of 6 mm sealant bite to each substrate is recommended.

HOW TO USE:
Surface Preparation
Ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry, sound and grease-free.
Porous substrates such as concrete, brickwork, mortar, etc. must be mechanically cleaned of loose particles using a steel brush, sanding disc or any similar means.

Masking
Areas adjacent to the joints should be masked with tape to prevent contamination of the substrates and to ensure a neat sealant line. Masking tape should be removed immediately after tooling.

Priming
Primers are not usually required but might be needed for some specific substrates for maximum adherence.

Backing Materials
Where back-up material is required, closed cell polyethylene backer rod is recommended. Back-up materials provide back pressure and avoid three sided adhesion that limits sealant movement capability.

Tooling
Tool the surface of the joint immediately after sealant application to provide a smooth even finish and to ensure the sealant wets the sides of the joint. Tooling should be completed in one continuous stroke before the sealant forms a skin. Remove masking tape immediately after tooling and before the sealant skins.

Maintenance
Generally no maintenance is required, if the sealant is damaged, only the damaged part needs to be replaced. SR966 Silicone Sealant can adhere to the cured SR966 Silicone Sealant, but must be wiped off with only a preparatory solvent wipe to remove accumulated dirt.

PRECAUTIONS:
Please read the safety data sheet of this product prior to use
• Avoid contact with eyes before curing. If contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor
• Pay attention to ventilation in the working areas
• Uncured products should avoid contact with children
