Base and Curing Agent

7212 Structural Glazing Sealant is a two-component, neutral curing formulation specifically developed for the structural bonding of glass, metal and other building components that are desired for factory glazing and curtainwall production.

7212 Structural Glazing Sealant Base (Part A) and 7216 Structural Glazing Sealant curing agent (Part B) are packaged separately.
Base (Part A):200L iron drum, net volume is 180L
Curing agent (Part B): 20L plastic pail, net volume is 19L


USABLE LIFE AND STORAGE:
When stored at or below 30ºC in the original unopened containers, 7212 Structural Glazing Sealant has a shelf life of 12 months from date of production.

LIMITATIONS:
7212 Structural Glazing Sealant should not be applied:
• When surface temperatures below 10ºC or exceed 40ºC
• On surfaces which require painting or staining
• On frost-laden or wet surfaces
• In areas where abrasion and physical abuse are encountered
• In below-grade or continuous water immersion applications
• To materials that bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents, such as impregnated wood, oil-based caulks
• For structural adhesion on bare metals or surfaces subject to corrosion (i.e., mill aluminum, bare steel, etc.)
• In contact with or exposed to sealants that release acetic acid.
• To surfaces that will be in direct contact with food

HOW TO USE:
7212 Structural Glazing Sealant,when used in structural applications, MUST be reviewed by our technical service specialists.
• Surface Preparation
Clean all joints and glazing pockets, removing all foreign matter and contaminants such as grease, oil, dust, water, frost, surface dirt, old sealants or glazing compounds and protective coatings. Metal, glass and plastic surfaces should be cleaned by mechanical or solvent procedures. Where used, solvent should be wiped off with clean, oil-free and lint-free cloths.
• Mixing
Base (Part A) should be mixed with curing agent ( Part B) according to specified ratio. To obtain ultimate physical properties, 7212 Structural Glazing Sealant Base (Part A) and Curing Agent (Part B) should be thoroughly mixed using an airless mixing system. 
7212 Structural Glazing Sealant is compatible with existing commercial two-part silicone dispensing equipment. 
Curing agent ( Part B) should be remixed if fluid separation occurs. This is easily accomplished with a electric hand-held mixer. Total mix time takes less than 2 minutes to achieve a homogenous mix. Because of its reactivity with atmospheric moisture, mixing by hand or utilizing small mechanical mixing devices will not produce satisfactory results.

EQUIPMENT CLEANING:
When the dispensing equipment is not used, please clean it with the base or flush it with appropriate cleaning solvent to minimize cured sealant buildup in the equipment.

PRECAUTIONS:
• Product safety information required for safe use is not included in this document. before handling, read safety data sheet.
• Avoid contact with eyes before curing. If contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor.
• Pay attention to ventilation in the construction and curing areas
• Uncured products should be kept away from children

REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE:
Generally, no maintenance is required. If the sealant is damaged, replace the damaged part. Just remove the accumulated dirt with solvent and fill it with sealant.
