1215 Two-part Electronic Potting Silicone Elastomer is a low viscosity, two-part silicone encapsulant. It has good flowability, does not produce small molecules during curing, and has excellent thermal and insulating properties, no corrosion to various substrates, and meets the requirements of the EU ROHS. Suitable for potting and encapsulating power supplies, sensors, electronic components, circuit boards and solar photovoltaic junction boxes, etc.

APPLICATIONS:

USABLE LIFE AND STORAGE:
The product should be stored in a cool, dry place at or below 27 °C. It has a usable life of 9 months from the date of production.

COMPATIBILITY:
Certain materials, chemicals, curing agents and plasticizers can inhibit the cure of addition cure gels. Most notable of these include: organotin and other organometallic compounds, silicone rubber containing organotin catalyst, sulfur, polysulfides, polysulfones or other sulfur containing
materials, unsaturated hydrocarbon plasticizers, and some solder flux residues. If a substrate or material is questionable with respect to potentially causing inhibition of cure, it is recommended that a small scale compatibility test be run to ascertain suitability in a given application. The presence of liquid or uncured product at the interface between the questionable substrate and the cured gel indicates incompatibility and inhibition of cure.

HOW TO USE:
• Preparation
Part A and Part B inevitably precipitate during transportation and storage. In order to ensure the use effect, Part A and Part B need to be thoroughly stirred in the respective containers before mixing, and the mixture is kept as stable as possible. Prevent excessive air ingress.

• Mixing and De-Airing
These products are supplied in a 1 to 1 mix ratio, which is very robust in manufacturing environments and allows for some process and dispense equipment variation. In most cases de-airing is not required.

• Curing
The curing reaction begins at the beginning of the mixing process. At room temperature, Part A and Part B are uniformly mixed to have a certain operable time, during which the viscosity of the mixture gradually increases, followed by gel and finally into an elastomer. The operable time is sensitive to the ambient temperature. The amount of encapsulant and the time of potting should be controlled according to actual needs to avoid waste.

• Repairability
When it is necessary to rework defective parts, 1215 Two-part Potting & Encapsulating Sealant can be selectively and selectively removed. After the repair is completed, the part to be repaired can be refilled.
