Product Description

PV762 Silicone Structural Sealant for Photovoltaic

PV762 Silicone Structural Sealant is a one component, ready-to-use, neutral curing silicone structural sealant which is designed for structural bonding and sealing applications for photovoltaic curtain walls and dual glass PV modules. Curing at room temperature and reacts with moisture in the atmosphere to form a tough and elastic silicone rubber. Excellent weatherproof capability makes it virtually unchanged even in extreme weather conditions and resistant to sunlight, rain, snow, and extreme high temperatures. Excellent ultimate tensile strength makes it ideal for structural bonding applications.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:
• Neutral curing, non-corrosive
Can be extruded over a wide temperature range and easy to apply
• High strength, excellent mechanical properties
• Excellent waterproof and weather resistance
• Reliable durability, maintains elasticity at temperatures between -50°C and 150°C without hardening, cracking and chipping
Forms a strong bond with most building materials after curing, A primer is generally not required
• Suitable for new construction and maintenance works

APPLICATIONS:
Structural bonding applications for solar photovoltaic curtain wall
Structural bonding applications for dual glass photovoltaic modules
Structural bonding applications for residential and public solar roof

PACKAGING INFORMATION:
PV762 Silicone Structural Sealant is supplied in 300 ml disposable plastic cartridges, 500ml and 590ml foil sausages and 200L drum bulk packaging.

USABLE LIFE AND STORAGE:
When stored at or below 27°C in the original unopened containers, it has a usable life of 12 months from the date of production.

LIMITATIONS:
• Not suitable for use in In totally confined spaces as the sealant requires atmospheric moisture for cure
• When the surface temperature of the substrate is lower than 10 °C or exceeds 40 °C, it is not suitable for working.
• Not suitable for frosted or wet surfaces
• Not suitable for continuous flooding or wet places all year round
• Not suitable for all materials that that bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents materials such as
impregnated wood, oil-based caulks, green or partially vulcanized rubber gaskets or tapes
Can not be used in horizontal floor joints where abrasion and physical abuse are likely to be encountered
• Do not contact with any sealant that may release acetic acid
• Can not be used where paint is required
• Can not be used on surfaces that are in direct contact with food

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT TECHNOLOGY SERVICES:
Drawing review
Prior to the application of the PV762 Silicone Structural Sealant, the joint design drawings for the silicone structural sealant must be approved by Hitakol's technician and submitted a written report.
• Bonding test
Hitakol will makes the tests through our standard laboratories to assess the bonding properties of our products and materials selected (such as glass, metal, etc.), and submit the results of the experiments, product recommendations and surface cleaning methods to customers in writing.
Compatibility test
Material incompatibility can cause discoloration of the sealant and even loss of cohesiveness. In order to avoid such problems and ensure the compatibility of the material with the product, we will also test the  compatibility of auxiliary materials (such as backer rod, joint filler and double-sided tapes, etc.) with PV762 Silicone Structural Sealant. Materials or site samples used by the customer for the project must be provided to us for adhesion and compatibility testing.

HOW TO USE:
 Surface preparation
Thoroughly clean all substrates to be bonded before using this product to remove all foreign matter and contaminants such as grease, oil, dust, water, frost, surface dirt, old sealants or compounds and protective coatings. Metal, glass and plastic must be cleaned with solvent according to two rag cleaning methods. In all cases, the solvent must be wiped clean with a clean, lint-free cloth. Do not use detergent or soap with water.
Primer
PV762 Silicone Structural Sealant generally does not require a primer. However, if the adhesion test indicates that a primer is required, the primer is applied to the interface with a clean, lint-free cloth before applying the sealant. Apply a thin layer to the surface and allow it to dry. A test must be performed before using the sealant to determine if a primer is required.
 Accessory selection
At the bottom of the joint, open-celled polyurethane foam, closed cell polyethylene foam or polyolefin material can be used as the backer rod, and as for the shallower joint which cannot accommodate the foam rod, a low-viscosity polyethylene tape can be used to control the depth of sealant.
 Masking and tooling
To ensure that the surface of the substrate is clean and tidy after application, it is necessary to cover it with tape near the joint. Do not allow the making tape to touch the surface where the sealant will be applied. After the tooling work is completed, the cover tape should be removed immediately.

SEALANT APPLICATION:
Install gasket material or joint filler material, glass support blocks, gaskets and tape as required by the design. PV762 Silicone Structural Sealant is continuously squeezed into the joint, and the sealant is flattened on the backing material and the joint surface with appropriate force. Tooling must be finished before skin forming. It is recommended to use a convex tool to trim the sealant surface into a concave shape. Do not use soap and water as an auxiliary material for tooling. Remove masking tape as soon as the tooling is finished.

PRECAUTIONS:
• Before using, please read the safety data sheet of this product for information on the safe use of the product.
• Avoid contact with eyes before curing. If contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor.
• Pay attention to ventilation in the construction and curing areas
• Uncured products should avoid contact with children
